Unsprawling is run entirely by volunteers, but as we expand our scope and reach, we sometimes require funding to better accomplish our mission.

Donating to Unsprawling supports our creators, our operations, allows us to spread the word in funkier ways (posters, stickers, merch, events, etc.), and contributes towards gear/production equipment.

About Us

Who Are We?

Unsprawling is Calgary’s urban activist media collective. Our members come from a diverse range of backgrounds and levels of experience - including students, professionals, and enthusiasts who are passionate about Calgary and its future

What Do We Do?

Unsprawling is the mouthpiece of Calgary’s urban activist community. We primarily produce informational social media content – on issues of urban policy, municipal government, and civic engagement — to help Calgarians better connect with a positive vision of our city. Our content informs Calgarians about what is happening in their city and inspires action towards resilience, sustainability, and urban vibrancy.

We are a diverse, non-partisian collective that is united by a shared belief that Calgary is already an amazing city, but that it has the potential to be even greater. Unsprawling fosters a constructive dialogue about the future of Calgary, advancing a positive vision for the city’s future that focuses on these core ideas:
